The jobless rate in South Korea decreased to 2.6% in June.
In June 2025, South Korea's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 2.6% from 2.7% in the previous month. The number of unemployed individuals dropped to 825,000, showing a year-on-year decrease of 32,000 people, or 3.8%. Concurrently, the number of employed individuals increased to 29.091 million, up by 183,000 or 0.6% compared to the same month last year. The labor force participation rate rose to 65.4%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points year-on-year, indicating ongoing robustness in labor market involvement. These statistics point to a resilient job market in the face of global economic challenges.
